Savills Sponsors "Cathay Pacific Gale Well Hong Kong Squash Open 2009
Savills Hong Kong announced their sponsorship of HK$400,000 for the "Cathay Pacific Gale Well Hong Kong Squash Open 2009", a sporting extravaganza held from today to this Sunday (October 12 -18) featuring the world's best players. This is the second consecutive year Savills is sponsoring the Hong Kong Squash Open.
Presented by Hong Kong Squash, with the support of title sponsors Cathay Pacific and Gale Well Group, the week-long tournament has again attracted the world's top 30 players from the Women's International Squash Players Association (WISPA) as well as the Professional Squash Association (PSA) to Hong Kong for a lucrative winning purse of HK$1.6 million.
Mr Raymond Lee, CEO of Savills Hong Kong & Macao, Mr Peter Yuen, Savills Senior Director and Head of Investment & Sales, and Mr Raymond Wan, Director of Savills Investment earlier attended the press conference in announcing the event. Mr Raymond Lee also represented Savills to carry out the draws for the Squash Open. They pictured with the representatives of the title sponsors, Mr. James Barrington, Director of Marketing & Sales, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Mr Jacinto Tong, Chief Executive Officer, Gale Well Group Ltd.
The 2009 event will be held at Hong Kong Squash Centre in Admiralty starting today until Friday (October 16), and the tournament's final stages will then move across the harbour to Plaza Hollywood in Diamond Hill, Kowloon on Saturday & Sunday (October 17 and 18).
A state-of-the-art glass court will be set up in the Star Atrium of Plaza Hollywood, one of the busiest shopping malls in Hong Kong, for the tournament's semi-finals and finals. People from all walks of life will be treated the opportunity to view the top class event when shopping at the mall, while players will also encounter the special experience of performing their great skills in front of a big crowd.
